For amateur astronomers, warm weather marks the beginning of star party season.

Star parties are places where amateur astronomers meet to observe the wonders of the universe by night and listen to astronomical seminars by day.

They are places where you can try out new equipment and learn more about the hobby of amateur astronomy. They are also places to meet new and old friends.

If you’re love astronomy you will love star parties.

For the last 15 years, I have attended Star Feast in MountForest, just north of Guelph. Organized by the North York Astronomical Association, it’s recognized as one of the top ten star parties in the world. It has attracted hundreds of amateur astronomers from across Canadaand the US. This year it will be held August 25-28. For more information www.nyaa.ca/.
